Princess Johnson started working with CCHRC in November 2016 as part of the Holistic Approach to Sustainable Northern Communities' effort to create a coordination center. She is Neet'saii Gwich'in and her family comes from Arctic Village, Alaska. She earned her B.A. in International Relations from the George Washington University and will graduate this May with her Master's in Education from University of Alaska Anchorage. She was appointed by President Obama to serve on the Institute of American Indian Arts Board of Trustees in Santa Fe and holds a deep passion for the arts and is the current chair of the Alaska Native Education - Parent Advisory Committee.

She is excited to work with the community of Oscarville to create a model for healthy community development that is community led and incorporates the traditional knowledge of Alaska Native peoples. Creating a more just and equitable Alaska for her children and future generations is the main driver in her work.
