Welcome to Interior Alaska's Portal On Retrofits Training And Loans
The PORTAL was established in July 2008 to assist residents in applying for home energy efficiency loans and rebates. The PORTAL will also help the public locate weatherization programs and certified energy raters.
By visiting the PORTAL, qualified homeowners will be connected to the AHFC Home Energy Rebate program, which provides rebates up to $10,000 those who improve the energy efficiency of their homes. Lower income residents can get assistance applying for the AHFC Weatherization program, which provides free weatherization assistance for homes, rentals and multi-family dwellings. Homeowners needing further financial assistance will be referred to the AHFC loan program.
The PORTAL will also be available to help homeowners sign up for training programs offered by the University of Alaska Fairbanks Cooperative Extension Service. Do-it-yourselfers can learn how to take home improvement projects into their own hands and complete the renovation work themselves.
The PORTAL is open from 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM M-F and Evenings and Saturday by appointment at 326 Driveway Street Suite 100, behind the Fairbanks Daily News-Miner and across the street from the old railroad depot downtown.
