12/7/06 Alaska Climate Impact Assessment Commission
Cole Sonafrank, CCHRC Assistant Director of Research, presented public
testimony before the Alaska Climate Impact Assessment Commission
(ACIAC). Cole's testimony summarized a report given to the Denali
Commission (Recommended Research Goals
and Methods on Civil Infrastructure Related to Housing in Alaska)
last April by CCHRC Director of Research, John Davies. Cole provided
the ACIAC hard copies of this Report and the resulting Denali Commission
report to the National Science Foundation on recommended Research
Goals and Methodologies.

7/12/06 THE RASMUSON FOUNDATION AWARDS CCHRC $386,184
The Rasmuson Foundation awards for 2006 were announced last week. CCHRC
received funds for fixtures, furnishings, and equipment for the
Cold Climate Building & Infrastructure Research & Testing
Facility.

6/6/06 CCHRC BOARD GAINS TWO NEW DIRECTORS
The CCHRC membership voted to amend the bylaws to allow two new seats
on the Board making 11 seats total. Brent LeValley and Jess Hall
were elected as the new directors.
3/22/06 CCHRC BOARD GAINS 2 INTERIM DIRECTORS
The CCHRC Board is holding a Special General Membership Meeting on April
11, 2006 to vote on a proposed amendment to the CCHRC Bylaws to
allow for 11 directors to serve on the Board. It has also elected
2 interim directors to fill the 2 extra seats: Brent LeValley and
Jess Hall. The membership will be asked to vote on these items at
