AK Energy Efficiency

AK Energy Efficiency is an online resource that educates Alaskans on energy efficiency and conservation. It is a collaborative of state and federal government programs, utilities, nonprofits, university programs, private businesses and tribal organizations.

Yukon River Inter-Tribal Watershed Council

The Yukon River Inter-Tribal Watershed Council is an indigenous organization made up of 70 First Nations and tribes dedicated to protecting and preserving the Yukon River Watershed. YRITWC provided a solar photovoltaic array and wind turbine to the CCHRC prototype house in Anaktuvuk Pass.

Nunamiut Corporation

The Nunamiut Corporation is the Village Corporation in Anaktuvuk Pass, a Nunamiut community located in the central Brooks Range. The corporation partnered with CCHRC in the development of the prototype house in Anaktuvuk Pass in 2008.

Ilisagvik College

Ilisagvik College is a two-year tribal college in Barrow, Alaska offering academic, vocational and technical education and dedicated to strengthening Inupiat (Eskimo) culture, language, values and traditions. Instructors from Ilisagvik worked with CCHRC to build a sustainable prototype house in Anaktuvuk Pass and teach a local crew the construction, plumbing and electrical concepts.

City of Anaktuvuk Pass

Anaktuvuk Pass is an Inupiat Numamiut community of about 300 located in the central Brooks Range. CCHRC and partners, including the city of AKP, designed and constructed a prototype house in 2008 that demonstrated sustainable, climate-specific, affordable building in rural Alaska.

Shannon & Wilson is a geotechnical and environmental consulting company with offices in Anchorage, Seattle and other U.S. cities.

Northern Economic Research Associates

Northern Economic Research Associates worked with CCHRC on an analysis of the Alaska Building Energy Efficiency Standards. The analysis looked at the life-cycle costs and maintenance costs, and benefits—such as improved air quality, greater durability, occupant comfort, and more.

Institute of Northern Engineering

The Institute of Northern Engineering provides research and engineering solutions for the world’s cold regions and beyond. CCHRC worked with INE and the UAF Water and Environmental Research Center on a best practices plan for rain catchment systems.

UAF Water and Environmental Research Center

The UAF Water and Environmental Research Center (WERC) focuses on scientific and engineering studies related to water resources and environmental quality. CCHRC worked with WERC and the UAF Institute of Northern Engineering  on a best practices plan for rain catchment systems.
