Welcome to Energy Focus
The Cold Climate Housing Research Center, in collaboration with the Northern Alaska Environmental Center (NAEC) FOCUS Fairbanks group, and the Fairbanks Daily Newsminer, is proud to introduce an ongoing series of articles written to inspire the people of Interior Alaska in this time of rising fuel costs and rapidly growing cost of energy.
The articles will run in the Thursday edition of the Fairbanks Daily Newsminer and authorship will alternate weekly between the Cold Climate Research Center and the Northern Alaska Environmental Center FOCUS Fairbanks group. The articles authored by CCHRC will focus primarily on energy and building related themes, while the FOCUS Fairbanks articles will focus on a broader spectrum of sustainability topics in a series called Using Resources Wisely. The articles offered by CCHRC will be written by CCHRC staff along with community members (builders/professionals/scientists) with extensive knowledge and backgrounds in the topics brought forth.
This web page will act as a portal to the Newsminer articles, as well as provide additional information not included in the articles themselves.
Update 5.1.08 Energy Focus articles can now be found on our Sustainable Blog.
If you would like to suggest a building or energy related topic you would like to see featured, please email us.
